The Northern Rivers Food Harvest Food Trail is fast approaching!

From farm gates to distilleries, indigenous food tours, fine-dining restaurants, farmers markets, breweries and more, you can plan your own self-drive itinerary to go behind-the-scenes and enjoy all the festivities over the weekend. The event promises to be a very Northern Rivers experience and chance to indulge in everything our wonderful region has to offer.

Held on the last weekend in July, the Harvest Food Trail is a fantastic opportunity to appreciate and enjoy the distinctive provenance of the Northern Rivers. After the experiences of the past two years the event is a time to come together, reflect and celebrate our wonderful local producers and food providers.

Here’s our top picks for making the most of your Trail itinerary.

Husk Distillers Ink Gin Morning Tea | Saturday and Sunday, 10am-2pm $30pp
Enjoy morning tea on the lawn indulging in a Husk garden inspired cocktail and assortment of morning tea goodies made lovingly using locally sourced ingredients.

Blue Ginger Picnics Top Deck Picnic Cruise | Sunday 1.30pm-4.30pm $249pp
Step aboard the Spirit of Wollumbin, sip a welcome cocktail and settle into plush cushions on the top deck and enjoy a luxurious picnic lunch featuring 100% local produce as you enjoy a relaxed river cruise.

Pipit Coastal Fine Dining | Saturday & Sunday $125-$150pp
Showcasing the best of the Tweed and Northern Rivers’ local produce, sustainable seafood, wood-fired cooking and fine-dining, join Chef Ben Devlin for a 8 course lunch or 9 course dinner set menu with all guests receiving a Pipit Produce Map to visit local farms, markets and suppliers.

Cheeses Loves You Farm Tour | Saturday $5pp
Meet the maker Deb Allard and tour the working dairy farm and cheese making facility. Tour the farm, watch cheese making demonstrations and sample a range of cheeses with the opportunity to purchase cheese from the farm store.

The Farm Tour | Saturday 1-4pm $40pp
Take a behind the scenes tour of The Farm and learn about their regenerative farming practices and paddock to plate journey. Indulge in drinks and tasting plate courtesy of Three Blue Ducks followed by a conversation with the Chef on the farm to table journey and food ethos.

Australia’s Manuka Open Day | Saturday 10am-2pm Free
Specialising in harvesting and producing Australia’s Manuka honey, drop in and learn about their pure bioactive Jellybush honey with tastings and farm store. Bookings are not required.

Lord Byron Distillery Tasting & Tour | Saturday
Drop in to the new tiki-themed cellar door and taste the world-class rums and spirits produced onsite at the family owned distillery. Complimentary tours with any tasting or drink purchase.

Zentvelds Coffee Farm & Roastery Tours | Saturday Free
Zentvelds is swinging open its farm gates to offer a special full crop to cup on farm experience with guided farm walks and roastery tour. Taste to coffee grown organically in Newrybar and learn how they care for their soil, bees and wildlife to create the best cup.

Pork and Pinot Long Lunch | Saturday $100pp
Head to Forest at Crystalbrook Byron and enjoy three courses paired with a curated range of Gilbert Wines Pinot Noir. Meet the makers from Bangalow Sweet Pork and the Gilbert Family Wines team.
