Calling all lovers of fine food and drink! Australia's newest premier culinary event, Savour The Tweed, will be held from October 30 to November 3, 2024. This exquisite festival will highlight The Tweed's exceptional culinary scene and the unparalleled provenance of its food and drink, all set against the stunning backdrop of northern New South Wales.
The inaugural five-day celebration promises a rich tapestry of gourmet experiences, featuring a program of curated events that spotlight the region's finest local produce and the passionate artisans who bring it to life. From First Nations storytellers and dedicated chefs to talented distillers, brewers, baristas, cheesemakers, and farmers, Savour The Tweed will honour a vibrant community of food and drink artisans.
The festival's stellar lineup will include 20 distinctive events featuring both local and visiting chefs. Highlights of the program include a First Nations welcome dinner with native food foraging, farm-to-fork menus, and a wild-caught seafood lunch. Attendees can also look forward to events showcasing healthy, sustainable food practices and ethical farming.
Savour The Tweed is co-curated by renowned Tweed-based chef and author Christine Manfield, alongside local food advocate Amy Colli of Straight To The Source. The program will emphasise the diversity and prominence of The Tweed as one of Australia’s leading food and drink destinations. Expect farm tours, distillery and brewery masterclasses, long table lunches, storytelling, cooking classes, and local degustations.
Christine Manfield expressed her excitement about the festival, saying, "Savour The Tweed will be a signature regional event, created from the ground up. I’m thrilled to collaborate with The Tweed’s impressive line-up of food and drink producers, leading chefs, and cultural storytellers to celebrate the distinctive flavours and character of the region through immersive experiences."
The full program, set to be released in August, promises an impressive array of events at top local venues, expected to be the likes of Pipit, Bistro Livi, Tweed River House, and Potager - A Kitchen Garden, as well as fabulous drinking spots like Husk Farm Distillery.
