With its pristine beaches, cosmopolitan lifestyle and stunning hinterland, Noosa makes a stylish splash as Australia’s “Hamptons”. This glamorous resort town is a hub of Australia’s finest restaurants and boutiques set against a striking esplanade of sun, sand and all things bronzed. For a little slice of coastal bliss, Noosa is only a 1 & a half hour drive north of Brisbane, which might we add is an adventure in itself with its surrounding strawberry fields and Eumundi markets.
So, your Instagram account is mostly pictures of food and you feel fine about it. When someone asks you for a brunch idea, you send back at least five different options. You plan your holidays around restaurants you want to visit and squeeze in popular attractions around meal times. Congratulations, you’re a foodie and proud of it!
Noosa Main Beach is as seductive as ever; with stunning natural beauty, endless sunshine, divine dining and relaxed vibe you can go out and still feel the sand between your toes. Throw away any prejudice you might have about restaurants with a view. Noosa’s dress-circle favourites are still some of the best on the east coast.
We recently made our annual pilgrimage to the Sunshine Coast for the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival (NIFW) to share a weekend of sunshine & happiness with friends. The crew of 6 made our way up the coast separately from Brisbane, the smart ones took the day off work and came up early, the unlucky ones left Brisbane late Friday afternoon and endured 3 hours of traffic. But it was worth it, to relax and enjoy a weekend of good food, wine and friendship.
Love food & wine? Then you’re no doubt planning to attend a few foodie festivals around the country this year. With so many to choose from, we bring you the gourmet guide to Australia’s best food & wine festivals:
