The Port Douglas Carnivale is set return this May, bigger and brighter than ever! If you haven’t had the opportunity, Port Douglas’ Carnivale showcases the flair of North Queensland through its musicians, local produce and an array of jazzy events. This annual celebration is running from 22nd to 31st May, a perfect time of year to experience the culture and climate of the region.

A festival of all things morbid and punk rock is what I originally assumed, but it turns out Dark Mofo celebrates the old and newfangled through fire, rebirth and laser lights, served with a side of music, artwork and gastronomy. The return of this stygian (very dark) festival is set to reignite Hobart’s winter between 12th to 22nd June with its darker and weirder than ever program.
