Recently we were invited for a sneak peek of this year's Noosa Food & Wine Festival, returning to everyone's favourite beachside vacay destination 16-20 May. Over breakfast at Noosa Beach House, Festival Director Sheridah Puttick, shared some festival highlights with us, as well as outlining the festival's core ethos of sustainability and working toward a plastic free event. I'll drink to that!
Here's our Top 7 Noosa Food & Wine Festival Highlights:
Noir Noosa
A signature event for Noosa Food & Wine Festival and celebrating Moet & Chandon's 150th Anniversary this Australian exclusive event is set to be an unforgettable night under the stars. Staged under glistening fairy lights along Hastings Street, this is an exclusive black tie gala event not to be missed.
The Underground Collective
Alla Wolf-Tasker, Matt Moran, Scott Pickett and Zeb Gilbert join forces for a progressive lunch in the picturesque Noosa Hinterland. This intimate event will see just 60 guests dining at this exclusive lunch with a focus on showcasing produce from seasonal, small-scale producers.
Festival Village
The heart of the festival, the Festival Village will be transformed to take full advantage of the dazzling river aspect. For the first time, a VIP lounge will be available for punters to enjoy 2 hours of food & wine by a team of creative chefs to bring you good vibes, delicious bites and curated cocktails. The River Lounge (https://www.noosafoodandwine.com.au/venues/the-river-lounge) sees a takeover from the likes of Sum Yung Guys, North Bondi Fish and Balinese rock stars Bikini. Tickets to River Lounge are $75 and must be pre-booked.
Grazie
Join OzHarvest's charismatic Ronni Kahn and friends Giovanni Pilu, Alessandro Pavoni and Andy Davies as they create a mouth-watering 4-course dinner with matched wines at Locale on Hastings Street. The festival theme of sustainability is further embraced as they share their appreciation of the entire ingredient and celebrate the end-to-end food cycle with gratitude.
Pop! Pop Art, Bubbles & Canapes
Head to the hinterland for the launch of acclaimed pop artist Peter Phillips newly constructed studio gallery with an exhibition spanning the course of his impressive six-decade career. In collaboration with Chef Josh Lopez (ex-GOMA) you'll taste canapés inspired by the artworks and sip artisanal cocktails made with limited edition 'Fortune Distillery' gin featuring six artworks by Peter Phillips on the label. Having had a sneak peek of the gallery, this is sure to be an inspiring and impressive evening!
Beer, Gin and Gourmet Junk Party
Local brewery Land & Sea and distillery Fortune are bringing together their two crafts in one delicious mini festival style celebration of beer, sprits and gourmet junk. For three hours, roam between food and beverage stations alongside live music and brewery and distillery tours.
Well Nourished
Shake off the cobwebs with a lazy Sunday brunch on the shores of Noosa Main Beach by gourmet providore Belmondos. Think organic, sustainable, ethical produce, seasonal food, locally roasted coffee, a glass of organic bubbles and a Noosa Reds Tomatoes Bloody Mary – what a way to finish a massive weekend!
