Reece Hignell’s highly anticipated Cake Boi opens in Newcastle this weekend!
Reece burst onto our screens in 2018 on Masterchef coming in a commendable 6th and then returning in 2020’s Back to Win with fellow alumni and finishing in 5th place.
Known for his signature cakes, Reece’s new venture builds on this theme with Cake Boi serving up delectable sweet treats and brunch bites in his new Hamilton, Newcastle store.
Reece’s love of baking was influenced by his Nan who had a popular cake stall at the Warners Bay Markets with a young Reece helping to bake with his beloved Nan. You can be sure Reece will be rocking out some old school favourites and CWA (Country Women’s Association) classics such as lemon tart and custard sponge when the doors swing open on Cake Boi.
Moving his successful online baking business to a bricks and mortar store has been a dream come true. The space just off Beaumont Street retains the retro brown floor tiles and teems with modern blush pink tiles and a spectacular cabinet display to create bakery heaven. Cake Boi is sure to be a hub for good times, great coffee and dreamy cakes.
