Cure those winter blues with the Hunter Valley Wine & Food Month! This much anticipated event enables festivalgoers to dive into the regions finest wine and freshest produce throughout the month of June. With its cellar door experiences, family friendly activities and an abundance of foodie adventures, the festival is set to be bigger and better than ever!
Food for the Soul
Uncover the mouthwatering flavours of the Hunter Valley with the region’s leading producers and chefs. We’d recommend pulling up a seat at the Whispering Book Oliver Long Table Luncheon with its Mediterranean inspired menu with matched wines, live music and an anonymous guest speaker (how exciting?!). Or better yet, why not get your hands dirty with the freshest local produce at one of the many pop up cooking classes? Under the guidance of the Hunter Valley’s leading chefs, you’ll create an unforgettable banquette, learn some tips and tricks, and sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labour. The Art of Gnocchi class looks promising!
Good Wine & Good Company
Whether you’re an aspiring connoisseur or simply interested, the Hunter Valley Wine & Food Month has something for you. Learn about the region’s most iconic varieties, gain insight into the winemaking process and of course a taste test or 2 along the way. We’d recommend Hunter Valley 101 which explores the regions finest wines, complete with a gourmet cheese platter (sold!). Quick fact, event organisers have created an app for festivalgoers to taste, record and purchase their favourite wines. For further info, click here.
Don’t Forget to Play
With its food fairs, produce markets and the renowned Food Fight, you’re bound to have a blast! If you haven’t had the opportunity, the Food Fight is an action packed banquet featuring 6 dishes made by 6 of the region’s leading chefs. Here is the catch, you as a guest have the opportunity to judge and crown the supreme cuisine. This is an absolute must do! Or maybe the Cork & Fork Cup is more your cup of tea? It’s an occasion to compete with the regions Winemaker Legends and Larrikins followed by a course of wine and food tastings. There’s something for everyone!
