This year is set to sizzle with a host of hot new hotels slated to open across Australia in 2017. Sure there are plenty of new hotels of the chain variety set to open in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, but we have our eye for style on the boutique, unique and independent.
Here are details of the most anticipated new hotel openings in 2017:
Jackalope, Mornington Peninsula
Just 44 sleeps until this luxury hotel opens in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula on the rural surrounds of Willow Creek Vineyard. Comprising 46 luxury rooms overlooking the vines and rural surrounds and boasting curated designer details throughout, this is luxury re-imagined. Sure to become one of the "must visit" dining destinations, guests will enjoy onsite Doot Doot Doot Restaurant and lobby wine bar. Standby for Australia's most anticipated new art hotel.
MACq 01 Hotel, Hobart
The Federal Group are set to open their 113-room luxury hotel on Hobart's waterfront as part of a $35 redevelopment of the Macquarie Wharf Shed on 1 June 2017. The idea behind MACq 01 is the create a hotel inspired by the unique character and people of Tasmania to offer a quintessentially Tasmanian experience like no other. We can hardly wait for this storytelling hotel to open mid year.
Spicers Potts Point, Sydney
We're already fans of everything Spicers Retreats including their flagship Spicers Peak Lodge, so we're beside ourselves with excitement for the unveiling of Spicers Potts Point on 1 June 2017. A departure from their regional outposts, this boutique inner city hotel will feature 16 rooms and 4 suites over three traditional terraces in Sydney's Potts Point. The boutique hotel will also feature a bar, breakfast kitchen and guest lounge.
Spicers Guest House, Hunter Valley
The Guest House is currently closed for extensive renovations and luxury upgrades, ready to re-open as Spicers Guest House in November 2017. If you love all things Spicers, you'll love this new retreat which is expected to boast new conference facilities, luxury room refurbishments, a beautiful new pool and enchanting wedding chapel.
Pinky's Eco-Retreat and Beach Club, Rottnest Island
WA's favourite holiday island is about to receive its first "glamping" accommodation with the launch of Pinky's Eco Retreat and Beach Club. While catering to all budgets, the resort will feature 29 luxury eco-tents complete with ensuites and high level comforts. The resort will also feature a beach club including licensed bar, café, restaurant and function facilities with views across the ocean to Perth.
Soul of Gerringong, South Coast
It's still in the planning, but there are talks Soul of Gerringong on the beautiful South Coast of NSW may open as a 5-room guest house with each room featuring its own en-suite and sharing an open plan kitchen and living area. Due to open midyear, the luxury farmhouse may also be booked for exclusive use as a 5-bedroom luxe holiday house with pool and sleeping 8-10 guests in style. Additional to the farmhouse there will be a guesthouse that can sleep a further 4 guests.
Hottest New Holiday Houses...
We also have some hot new holiday houses on our radar including a Brisbane holiday house in a renovated Queenslander in trendy New Farm due to welcome guests in 2017.
Sister property to Toraja Luxury, Villa Toraja is set to open in the coming months in the Byron Bay Hinterland and will be the perfect getaway for two. Ayindi Beach House in Byron Bay has been closed for extensive renovations and we can't wait for to see the transformation – due to open late February 2017.
