One of the year’s most anticipated hotel openings is set to launch on the NSW North Coast surf town of Crescent Head in summer 2024.
SEA SEA will be a 70’s inspired surf club hotel featuring 25-rooms and offering a fusion of surf culture, fashion, music, hospitality and art designed to attract like-minded, creative individuals to unwind and connect with self and nature.
The brainchild of award-winning Creative Director and Designer, George Gorrow (previously Ksubi Co-Founder and Creator of The Sow in Bali) the hotel will offer curated experiences immersed in Australia’s rich surf culture. “Crescent Head still feels like that place you visited as a child, still feels so pure,” says Gorrow. “I love surfing so does my wife (Cisco Tschurtschenthaler) and the wave is to us one of the best waves in Australia, it’s for everyone, super fun”.
Using his expertise in fashion, hospitality, music and design, Gorrow will integrate these themes into the space to create an innovative food and beverage concept in collaboration with P&V Wine + Liquor Merchants, mixologist Antonello Arzedi (Scout London Sydney, Icebergs Dining Room and Bar) and Daniel Medcalf (Co-owner and Operator of No. 35 Kitchen and Bar, previously The Slow Kitchen & Bar Bali).
SEA SEA will also have a revolving program of music performances, curated mix tracks, art exhibitions, its own SEA SEA home collection, souvenir shop, and Room 13 - a project space that will showcase local and international established and emerging artists.
SEA SEA’s room design aesthetic will draw from 70’s surf inspired interiors, with artisan furniture and crafts juxtaposing audacious art. The rooms will feature world-class mini bars and in-house radio tracks curated by Reverberation. Unlike The Slow, which was a new build, SEA SEA is a reimagining of a pre-existing property, adding to the growing number of retro motel makeovers thriving along the coast.
SEA SEA is where high fashion meets laid back surf culture in the coastal town of Crescent Head. Crescent Head on the Macleay Valley Coast is just north of Port Macquarie about a 4.5-hour drive from Sydney. The boutique lifestyle hotel is set to launch in May 2023.
