The wait is over and Gold Coast's Balter Brewing is now open to the public, just in time for the long weekend! We've been following the Balter journey on Instagram ever since talented Brisbane design duo Frank & Mimi began transforming the warehouse space with an incredible large scale artwork.
What started as a conversation between mates in Hawaii at the Pipeline Masters has evolved into reality with the opening of Balter Brewing this weekend. Brainchild of local pro surfing legends Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Josh Kerry and Bede Durbidge, together with a handful of friends and head brewer Scott Hargrave, Balter Brewing is set to be a must-visit on the Gold Coast.
You're invited to tour the brewing facility, taste the beers and enjoy special events that showcase live music, food vans and fun in the spacious warehouse style surrounds of Balter. Think lots of brick, concrete, copper pipes and cool art by Frank and Mimi on the wall. There's beer tasting and an alleyway to hang out in & soak up some Gold Coast sun.
Balter Brewing is all about making beer that tastes great. That's why they have employed a gun in-house brewer, use the best available ingredients and combine natural processes with the latest technology to deliver the freshest flavours direct to the public.
The first beer to be released is the XPA, a pale beer with tropical and floral aromatics and a fruity palate, tailored for those who enjoy a fully hopped easy-drinking beer. Sounds like Queensland in a glass!
Since launching their first beer to the public last month, the Balter brand is now available in over 35 venues across Northern NSW, Gold Coast and Brisbane, with more venues to be announced. Over the next 12 months the boys at Balter plan to release another two foundation beers, each designed to cater to a specific character.
So grab a bunch of mates and add Balter Brewing to your Gold Coast weekend itinerary. Check out more places to eat, drink, stay and play on the Gold Coast here. Browse and book our handpicked collection of Gold Coast Accommodation here.
