Howard Smith Wharves throws open the doors to the highly anticipated Mr Percival's overwater bar and dining spot and Brisbane won't be the same again.
Part of the $200m revitalisation of Howard Smith Wharves, Mr Percival's joins Felons Brewing Co as the first of many drinking and dining spots to open in the new entertainment and lifestyle precinct. Greca Restaurant is next to open, followed by Stanley Cantonese Restaurant, Toko Japanese Restaurant, a deli, wine bar and the new Art Series Hotel The Fantauzzo.
The octagonal-shaped bar located under the iconic Story Bridge is inspired by European waterfront restaurants with an endless summer vibe that will resonate with Queenslanders.
Mr Percival's features an extensive wine list with a focus on Champagne and cocktails, perfect for sunset drinks. With a backdrop of the Brisbane River and city skyline, guests will be encouraged to visit often and stay late. To complement the drinks list, the menu will feature seafood dishes by head chef Damien Styles (formerly of The Fish House, Burleigh).
Swoon over the Insta-worthy interiors by Anna Spiro, from the architectural framework and speakeasy-style octagonal shaped bar, to the vintage palm tree fabrics and bespoke furniture by local Brisbane craftsman, there is beauty at every turn.
Admire the Victorian Ash timber lining the walls and the commissioned photography by up and coming photographer Tim Salisbury, who cruised along the Brisbane River in a dinghy snapping the nautical shots that now grace the walls of Mr Percival's.
Taking its name from the much-loved pelican character in the 1976 movie Storm Boy, it's a fitting choice for an overwater venue and will evoke a sense of nostalgia with diners.
Mr Percival's is sure to become a must-visit for locals, interstate visitors and global tastemakers.
